Text Box: The Kandinsky Suite

Dan KNIGHT’s passion for “painting with sound” is at it’s zenith here.   This is his most abstract, yet most melodic, most distinctive, and yet most personal work to date.   Pure color moves in the piano in a collage of images and colors.   It is a kaleidoscope of intensity and surprising beauty.

Composed at London’s TATE MODERN GALLERY in August, 2006, this work is dedicated to its sponsors, Gary and LaDonna Wicklund.

“COLOR IS THE KEYBOARD, THE EYES ARE THE HAMMERS, THE SOUL IS THE PIANO WITH MANY STRINGS.   THE ARTIST IS THE HAND WHICH PLAYS, TOUCHING ONE KEY OR ANOTHER, TO CAUSE VIBRATIONS IN THE SOUL.”
